United Way Partners with Wildhorse Foundation to Gift Books to Local Children in Benton County
KENNEWICK, Washington—United Way is pleased to announce a $10,000 grant from the Wildhorse Foundation to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Benton County in 2024. The investment in our local Imagination Library will allow United Way to grow our mission to advance early learning in our community.
The Imagination Library mails a new book every month to children, birth to age 5, at no cost to families. Over 5,700 children in Benton County are already enrolled and receiving books. Supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a powerful way to make a lasting impact on the lives of the children in our community. “Early education and kindergarten readiness is an important foundation for every child to have, and we know it is more effective when programs like this encourage families to read and spend quality time together,” said Jessica Sagdal, Community Impact Director for United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties.”
