WE EXPAND ACCESS TO SERVICES

Mission:

United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties collaborates to support a foundation for the well-being, safety, and academic success of children, from birth to middle school.

Our Focus:

Our #1 goal is to build better futures for local kids and their caregivers. Our Community Grant partners help us meet this goal by providing services in our 3 priority areas:

  • Kindergarten Preparedness –90% of a child’s brain is fully developed by the age of 5. Children who enter kindergarten with all the skills they need to succeed are more likely to read at grade level by 3rd grade and succeed in school. We support programs that promote early learning and help local children be prepared for school.

  • Student Success – Students who regularly attend elementary and middle school are more likely to graduate high school. We support school attendance and programs that provide students with the support they need to do well in school.

  • Basic Needs – It’s hard for children and families to focus on early learning and school success when they are struggling to meet basic needs, such as food, housing, health, or safety. We support programs that give children and their caregivers access to basic needs, helping them build a foundation for future success.

Our next grant cycle will take place in the Spring of 2027
